Central Virginia Wedding || Aaron & Lauren's Trivium Estate Wedding

Most February weddings in Virginia we have to worry about the chance of snow, but Aaron & Lauren totally lucked out with the weather this past weekend! We even got to take their family portraits outside! In February!!! 

Aaron & Lauren wanted a relaxed, country feel for their wedding and their rustic touches turned out perfect for their ballroom wedding ceremony, and their reception at The Trivium Estate.  This couple started out their day in the gorgeous, separate getting ready suites with their closest friends and family.  Their ballroom ceremony was so beautiful- special & intimate, followed by sweet moments outside for their couple portraits.  

Congratulations you two!! It was so much fun being a part of your big day!!

Central Virginia Wedding Photographer || Lauren's Bridal Portraits

I love when a bride choose to do bridal portraits.  It's the perfect way to see everything all together, and helps you decide before your actual wedding day if you want to make any changes to your hair or makeup! Bridal Portraits are a lot more laid back than the photos I get of just the bride on the wedding day, and I'm able to get a ton of variety with images and your wedding details.  

Lauren made such a gorgeous bride, and we had such a great time out at The Trivium Estate for her bridal portraits! I loved her the gorgeous neckline and fit of her dress! It was so perfect for her! She wanted a relaxed, country feel for her wedding day, so she choose to wear boots instead of heels, which sure makes walking all around the grounds at The Trivium a lot easier!

Weekend Update || Lynchburg Wedding Photographer

Y'all have to know I am loving this warm, sunny weather here in Virginia in FEBRUARY! This has been the warmest winter I can remember, and goodness, that makes me so happy!! Usually, I give my winter brides a warning, that even if it snows I'll be taking them outside for photos, but this weekend, I didn't have to worry about snow at all! It was the perfect kind of weekend for me- a wedding on Saturday and a family day on Sunday! 

Aaron & Lauren got married at The Trivium Estate on Saturday afternoon- it was such a beautiful day! They chose a casual & rustic theme for their day! 

Sunday, we enjoyed something that can be a little rare around here- a quiet, slow morning and an afternoon of family time! Hanging out in our pajamas, snuggling, and drinking coffee (and hot chocolate) for a majority of our morning is something I could get used to! Once we got dressed and out the door, we took Emerson to the movies and saw Moana! Such a cute movie! 

I can't wait to share these photos from Lauren's bridal portraits later this week- and of course, more from their gorgeous wedding is coming soon too!  Hooray!

Weekend Update... playing catch up! || Lynchburg Wedding Photographer

It's Wednesday!!! How the heck did this entire week sneak up on me like this? I'm playing a bit of catch up since some travel issues had me way off track! SO, let's do a 2 weekend update! ha! 

Last week, I flew to Milwaukee for Jason & Linday's wedding! It was soooo cold to say the least, but this couple was total troopers and still wanted to do photos outside! It was such a beautiful day and I am so excited to share more from their big day this week!! 

After some travel and weather delays, I met up with Chris and Katie in downtown Roanoke for their engagement session! It was the perfect January day- 60 degrees with the sun shining!! These two are such a blast- I can't wait for their Trivium Estate Wedding this year! 

We had a super fun weekend, filled with some movie time, lots of coffee, and something a little unusual for wedding vendors.. our very own dance party! It was such a blast to be with our friends in the industry, and dance with each other without our cameras and the stress that comes along with a wedding day! Of course, all of my photos from the night are grainy cell phone photos, but I still love them! 

So, forgive me for waiting until Wednesday for the weekend update- but sometimes we all have days we need to catch up!

2016 In Review : Thank YOU!!!

I've been sorting through all these photos from over the past year and I am seriously so blown away by the AMAZING couples I had the privilege to photograph in 2016.  This was my busiest year yet, I cut off my booking at 25 weddings, which was the best decision for the year.  My goal starting out 2016 was to be intentional with taking time off, spending time with my family, friendships, and being able to give my time 100% to my clients.  I have plans to go through my 2016 goals and what that looks like for my 2017 goals later this week.  

I was really blessed with a year of weddings very spread out! This is an industry that has natural booking cycles of spring and fall for weddings, so being able to shoot weddings through January, February, July, etc. was a huge blessing to be busy throughout the year and spread out my time away on the weekends.  

I loved finding 1-2 of my favorite images from the weddings I shot over the year! Each and every one of these couples has become friends with me and I am truly so blessed and have learned so much from each of them! We shot at some amazing venues this year- new ones, like Pharsalia and Keswick Vineyards in Charlottesville, Virginia

At the risk of sounding cheesy, I just wanted to thank each and everyone of these couples and their families.  It is always such an honor to be to be chosen to document the biggest most exciting day of your life- to be giving you the photos that you and your future generations will look at and enjoy for years and years down the road.  I love being a part of your wedding day, getting to know your families, and becoming friends with each and every one of you! Thank you so much for trusting me and supporting me and my family and my dreams! 

I am so excited for 2017- Cheers to another amazing year!!
