2016 In Review : Thank YOU!!!

I've been sorting through all these photos from over the past year and I am seriously so blown away by the AMAZING couples I had the privilege to photograph in 2016.  This was my busiest year yet, I cut off my booking at 25 weddings, which was the best decision for the year.  My goal starting out 2016 was to be intentional with taking time off, spending time with my family, friendships, and being able to give my time 100% to my clients.  I have plans to go through my 2016 goals and what that looks like for my 2017 goals later this week.  

I was really blessed with a year of weddings very spread out! This is an industry that has natural booking cycles of spring and fall for weddings, so being able to shoot weddings through January, February, July, etc. was a huge blessing to be busy throughout the year and spread out my time away on the weekends.  

I loved finding 1-2 of my favorite images from the weddings I shot over the year! Each and every one of these couples has become friends with me and I am truly so blessed and have learned so much from each of them! We shot at some amazing venues this year- new ones, like Pharsalia and Keswick Vineyards in Charlottesville, Virginia

At the risk of sounding cheesy, I just wanted to thank each and everyone of these couples and their families.  It is always such an honor to be to be chosen to document the biggest most exciting day of your life- to be giving you the photos that you and your future generations will look at and enjoy for years and years down the road.  I love being a part of your wedding day, getting to know your families, and becoming friends with each and every one of you! Thank you so much for trusting me and supporting me and my family and my dreams! 

I am so excited for 2017- Cheers to another amazing year!!

Backyard Wedding in Farmville, Virginia || Central Virginia Wedding Photographer

I've been looking forward to this wedding for what seems like the longest time.  Whitney is one of those people that you meet and instantly fall in love with, and feel like you've been friends with her forever.  

Wilson and Whitney are the sweetest couple, and I so enjoyed all the time I've gotten with them! I asked them what they loved most about each other and just about melted! Whitney talks about Wilson's authenticity and how he serves her and loves her so well.  And Wilson loves the way that Whitney loves with all of her heart- letting her joy, compassion, and encouragement shine on everyone.  I mean, don't you just love them so much?! 

Wilson and Whitney had a gorgeous backyard wedding in Farmville, Virginia at her parents farm.  It was the sweetest, homegrown wedding, with so many amazing details that their friends and family helped out with! Their personal vows to each other were so sweet, special and unique, I don't think there was a dry eye in the entire place! How her Dad held it together to preform the ceremony is just beyond me!!  

We headed out for some sunset photos right after dinner, and I am SO GLAD we did!! What a glorious sunset we got and oh my goodness some of my favorite images!!

Weekend Update: Farmville Wedding & Sweet Briar Engagement Sessions

Okay, I've pulled out my fall candles and my house is smelling like pumpkin pie, cinnamon, and crisp air. Now, can the weather just finally decide to catch up and cool off a little bit.  Just a little bit- I'm not inviting winter to come anytime soon- or ever really! ;) I know I'm not the only one anxiously awaiting for Autumn- layers, boots, and hot coffee! But, these amazing late summer weekends have brought the most amazing, fun weddings and engagement sessions! 

This weekend was such an honor. I joined Wilson & Whitney for their backyard wedding in Farmville and left with my heart so full of joy and excitement for these two! Through the wedding planning process, Whit and I quickly became friends, which always brings so much more to the wedding for me! It's so fun celebrating with the couple and cheering them on from behind the camera!! I cannot wait to share more from their wedding, but am so excited to share a few sneak peeks from their gorgeous day!! 

Sunday, Michael and I knocked out some small house projects that have been looming over for what seems like forever. It feels so good to complete some things on our forever long house to-do list! And then on Sunday afternoon, I met up with AJ & Kimberly at Sweet Briar College for their engagement session! We were ducking some storms in the area, but yay the weather cleared and it was a fantastic session! These two were seriously a blast to be around- I can't wait for their Trivium Estate wedding next Fall!!

Weekend Update || A movie night, a Wintergreen Wedding, and some puppy time!

Happy Monday! I'm catching up on emails, laundry, editing, and meal prep for the week today- just to name a few tasks on my never-ending to-do list! We had a fun, full weekend. Michael was out of town for work most of last week, so it was awesome to be able to spend some time together as a family Friday night, unplugged movie nights with popcorn and snuggles was exactly what we needed! 

On Saturday, Michael & I headed up to The Wintergreen Ski Resort for Anthony & Ryan's Wedding! Their wedding was such a fun celebration- I cannot wait to share more of their images from their big day! 

The heat hit us hard, so Sunday was spent recovering! We headed to our neighbor's pool and floated around, AND snuggled their sweet new puppy, Lola.  She's an absolute doll-baby and Emerson totally loved chasing her around their back yard! I got a bit of puppy-fever- someone quick! Talk some sense into me! ;) haha!

Ryan & Rachel Engagements || Lynchburg, VA Wedding Photographer

YAY! I've been so excited to share Ryan & Rachel's photos since their engagement session!! We had SO much fun out at this old mill- the sunshine was gorgeous, and these two are just the cutest!! I love all these cool locations tucked away with all this history, texture and greenery around Lynchburg! When Rachel told me that she had family right down the street from this mill in Madison Heights, we knew it was the perfect place for their photos!! Rachel did such a great job picking out what to wear for their engagement photos, and we truly had a blast soaking up the sunshine and gorgeous location!! I cannot wait for their wedding this Fall!!
